Need a toilet flapper or flush valve replaced on the Gold Coast? The Plumbing Doctor provides fast, fixed-price replacement of worn toilet flappers, vertical flush valves, and rubber outlet washers for all home and commercial cisterns across the Gold Coast.
If water continuously trickles into your toilet bowl, your flush button feels loose, or the toilet takes multiple flushes to clear, a degraded flush valve or sealing washer is almost always the culprit. Replacing these worn internal components stops water waste immediately without the cost of replacing the entire toilet.
Our licensed plumbers carry replacement flappers, flush tower mechanisms, and heavy-duty silicone outlet washers for all major Australian brands, completing 90% of repairs in a single visit.
We’re on call 24/7, fully licensed (QBCC & NSW), and ready to stop the damage quickly and restore your water supply with minimal disruption.
In modern Australian dual-flush toilets, the “flapper” is a flat rubber outlet washer located at the base of the flush valve tower. Over time, chemicals and tap water degrade this seal, causing a constant trickle into the bowl. We replace worn rings with heavy-duty, chemical-resistant silicone washers.
If the internal housing, flush cable, or vertical mechanism of your dual-flush tower is cracked or jammed, replacing just the washer won’t fix the problem. We supply and install complete dual-flush valve assemblies calibrated for optimal water savings.
Older single-flush or imported toilet models use a hinged rubber flapper on a lift chain. When flappers harden, warp, or snap off their mounts, the toilet runs non-stop. We stock universal and heavy-duty flappers to restore a watertight seal instantly.
If pushing your flush button does nothing or feels sticky, the internal linkage, pneumatic tube, or flush cable between the button and valve may be broken. We repair or replace faulty push-button mechanisms for top-mount, side-mount, and wall-hung cisterns.
A leaking flush valve can waste up to 25 litres of water every hour.
We carry genuine and OEM-compatible flush valve parts for all leading cistern manufacturers, including:
Caroma (Invisi, Profile, Slimline, Trident)
Stylus
Dorf
Fowler
Seima
Kohler
Geberit (In-wall cistern systems)
Novelli & Oliveri
If the shower drips or leaks continuously even when not in use, the issue is typically a pressurised pipe leak behind the wall. If it only leaks during or immediately after a shower, the cause is usually degraded silicone, failed grout, or a broken waterproof membrane under the tiles.
The cost depends on the style of toilet selected (such as a standard close-coupled suite versus a modern back-to-wall unit) and whether existing waste pipes need alteration. We provide upfront, fixed-price quotes that include removing and disposing of your old toilet.
Untreated shower leaks penetrate wall framing and subfloors, leading to wood rot, termite attraction, toxic mould growth, ceiling collapse on lower levels, and thousands of dollars in structural repairs.
